What is DDR RAM?
DDR RAM (Double Data Rate RAM) is an improved version of standard SDR RAM. DDR3 is the current standard for computer memory, replacing the previously used DDR and DDR2 types of memory. It is the fastest type of RAM available and the most widely distributed on the market, but it isn't compatible with all computers. The type of memory a computer needs is specified by its motherboard and some motherboards still require DDR2 memory.
