Webcast : Avoiding, Detecting, and Repairing SQL Server Database Corruption
Presenter: Andy Warren

This presentation will discuss how to avoid, detect, and repair database corruption – the kinds of problems that can happen due to a bad shutdown due to a power outage or a bad storage drive or controller. Some of the topics we’ll cover include page verify settings, backup with checksum, the right way to shutdown your instance, how to check for corruption, and the basics of repairing corruption. Corruption doesn’t happen often, but knowing what to do (and what NOT to do) can save you a lot of time and energy if it does happen to one of your databases.
