Transcript
With SQL Doctor, you can identify problems and misconfigurations on a SQL instance. And provide recommendations and options for fixing those problems. Today we will talk about how to limit analysis to specific databases and performance categories. Before we start an analysis, we can select the settings that will allow you to block recommendations you do not want to see in the report. This is also a great way to see all of the recommendations that SQL Doctor offers. Sort by categories to see all of the recommendations in that category. Moving to the next tab. Blocking databases. We can now block those databases that you do not need recommendations. Once you have selected your options, you can run the analysis. Once you view an analysis, you have another opportunity to block recommendations. Let us say you do not want to see recommendations about backups that are on the same volume. Simply select the recommendation. Click block. Select whether you want to block the recommendation completely or just a recommendation for that specific database. You can also limit your analysis to specific applications. Filter by wildcard in all the target-specific databases. This option is called filters. And it is presented to you in the analysis wizard. Filter by application here. And limit the analysis to the database here. SQL Doctor can be downloaded from the IDERA web site at www.idera.com. In our community at community.idera.com, there is a lot of different users that are ready to answer some of your questions. Thank you, and have a great day.
